Jeevan Sahara Kendra is an HIV/AIDS
care project started in August 2002 in Thane, India.
This name literally means "Life Help Centre"
in the Hindi language. The HIV epidemic in India is
staggering; Bombay alone has over 250,000 people with
HIV by conservative estimates.
Jeevan Sahara Kendra's vision is to bring hope and
healing to critically ill people suffering from HIV/AIDS.
Jeevan Sahara Kendra provides care to people with
HIV/AIDS through personal counseling, rational medical
help, and compassionate palliative care. It is currently
focused on developing a network to care for people
with HIV/AIDS in their own homes. At the same time,
Jeevan Sahara Kendra is in the process of developing
plans for a support institution to provide clinical
and palliative care.
